A key objective of the Integrated Youth Support Service is to develop stronger working with third sector organisations actively working with young people.
Wokingham Integrated Youth Support Services (IYSS) are committed to working in a holistic and multi-agency way to achieve positive outcomes for all young people, and in particular to those who might be considered ‘vulnerable’ due to their engagement in behaviour that may put them at risk of achieving a positive transition to adult life. The Integrated Youth Support Service works mainly with young people aged 13-19. Key objectives are:
- Engaging young people in a wide range of inform learning opportunities and positive activities
- Involving young people in decision making about the services that work with them
- Encouraging participation by young people in decision making within Wokingham Children’s Trust
- Reducing the number of young people that become teenage parents, and providing support to those that do
- Reducing the number of young people who become involved in anti-social behaviour, offend, re-offend, or enter the youth justice system or are sentenced to custody.
- Ensuring as many vulnerable young people as possible are engaged in Employment, Training or Education
- Providing effective treatment services to young people engaged in the problematic use of substances
