Aiming High for Disabled Children

The purpose of Aiming High is to increase the amount and range of short breaks that are available for families with children with additional needs. Our funding for short breaks and detailed information about plans and developments can be found in our Aiming High Strategic Plan.

Short break funding

The funding allows the range and amount of short breaks to be increased. Ongoing consultation is taking place with parents, carers and children to ensure that their views are taken into consideration when the allocation of money is being decided on. Local groups and organisations applied for short break funding to help them to expand on the services that they offer. This means more families and more children are able to access a wide variety of high quality short break services.

The group is voluntary and provides a platform for communication between all parents and carers and key policy makers. It also hosts events throughout the year.
