Play and active 8 logo

The Play and Active 8 Open Access Playscheme is a joint funded initiative between us and external partners. This scheme is available solely for children within that neighbourhood. It is open during the summer and Easter holidays. Continuation of this service is subject to finding additional funding.

What is an Open Access Playscheme?

Open Access playschemes - centre based - have been operating in parks, villages, towns and cities since the 1970’s. They provide an outlet of activity for children and young people during term and holiday times.

The main aim is to offer children and young people opportunities in their local environment, eliminating the need to travel. It is meant as a place for children and young people to go that offers opportunities to manage their own play. Children are free to come and go as they would if they are travelling to the park or local shops. They are Ofsted registered services.

The activities and programme includes:

  • Pool table
  • Table football
  • Arts and crafts
  • Workshops
  • Sports
  • Games and lots more

All activities are 'child led'.

Please bring completed registration form to first session attended.
