The Planning Inspectorate provides information regarding the development plan process and casework under Planning and Environmental legislation.
 
The Planning Portal is a system developed by The Planning Inspectorate providing general information on planning and related matters throughout England and Wales. Included within services of the Planning Portal is the ability to view the Development Plan for an individual local authority. An electronic version of the Wokingham District Local Plan Deposit Draft 1997 is available on the Portal website.
 
Governmental:
The Department for Communities and Local Government provides information relating to housing, planning and regeneration bringing together regional and local government (including the regional Government Offices), housing, planning and regeneration along with the social exclusion unit and neighbourhood renewal.
 
The Government Office for the South East (GOSE) represents central government in the South East, particularly the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister; the Departments for Education and Skills; Trade and Industry; Transport; Culture, Media and Sport; Environment, Food and Rural Affairs; and the Home Office. GOSE works to influence, contract and develop government programmes and initiatives at a regional and local level, by working in partnership with relevant organisations to meet the needs of the area. 
 
The Department for Transport provides information relating to Road Traffic, Railways, Local Transport, Shipping, Aviation, Mobility and Inclusion and Safety.
 
The Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs provides information relating to Sustainable Development, Animal Health and Welfare, Environmental Protection, Exports, Trade and Rural Development.
 
The Department for Culture, Media and Sport has responsibilityfor the built heritage, museums, galleries and libraries, the arts, sport, education, broadcasting and the media and tourism, as well as the creative industries and the National Lottery.
 
The Environment Agency has responsibility for protecting and improving the environment in England and Wales, looking after air, land and water.
 
English Heritage looks after the historic environment of England. On their website, further information is available on Conservation Areas, Listed Buildings and Scheduled Ancient Monuments.
 
Natural England works for people, places and nature to conserve and enhance biodiversity, landscapes and wildlife in rural, urban, coastal and marine areas. Natural England brings together English Nature, the Countryside Agency and the Rural Development Service.
