The Wokingham District Local Plan was Adopted by the Council on 11 March 2004, in line with its decision on 29 January 2004.
On 25 September 2007, the Secretary of State issued a Direction (attached below) indicating which policies would continue (saved) after 28 September 2007. However, these policies would only be saved until they had been replaced by a Development Plan Document produced by the Council.
Following adoption of the Council's Core Strategy Development Plan Document on 29 January 2010, some of the saved policies have been replaced by those in the Core Strategy. Whilst a copy of the complete Local Plan from March 2004 is still available below, there is also a copy of the Local Plan indicating which policies are still in force following the Core Strategy's adoption (the Residual Local Plan).
A copy of the text of the Adopted Plan is attached at the end of this page, discounting the impacts of the Secretary of State's letter of 25 September 2007. Also copies of each chapter and the appendices are separately attached at the end of this page. The Local Plan Proposals Map is available online, however, due to the large amount of data: 12 MB, the speed of your internet connection will affect how easy it is to view this information. The online Local Plan Proposals Map has been updated to take acocunt of the Core Strategy's adoption. Mapping system guidance notes are available if this service does not work.
Copies of the Original Adopted Plan are available for £35.00 plus £5.00 postage and packing. If you would like to purchase a copy, please send a cheque for the appropriate amount - made payable to 'Wokingham Borough Council' to Diane McGloin in the Land Use & Transport team. Alternatively, a copies of the Residual Local Plan are available for £10.00 plus £1.00 postage and packaging.
