The Council produces a land use plan for the borough that says where different buildings, from homes to shops, offices, schools, leisure and health facilities may be built. As the current plan ran until 2006, the Council is now working on a new plan to last until 2026.
The Council requested details of any land in the borough that could be considered for development in the new plan, subject to strict planning criteria. A guidance note together with the Pro Forma to suggest land for development is attached at the end of this webpage.
Whilst you are still welcome to submit a site using the form, the Council now requires information on how identification of the site would comply with the requirements of the Sustainability Appraisal and also reflects the views of the community following consultation. The authority also seeks information on the availability and deliverability of sites.
Any site submitted prior to 30 June 2006 was consulted upon through the Initial Options for the Site Allocations Development Plan document from 30 August to 11 October 2006.
