Local Development Framework - Core Strategy
The Core Strategy in the Local Development Framework sets out the long term vision and strategy for
controlling development within an area.

For Wokingham Borough it will cover the period 1 April 2006 to 31 March 2026.
The Council has agreed the following timetable for producing the Core Strategy:
- Consult on the Initial Options - 15 June-27 July 2005
- Executive consider responses to the Alternatives for the Draft Core Strategy and agree submission document - 27 July 2006. The Executive deferred agreeing the submission Core Strategy.
Revisions to the remainder of this timetable following deferral were agreed by the Executive on 29 May 2008 and are included in the Local Development Scheme. The new timetable is:
- Executive consider revised responses to the Alternatives for the Draft Core Strategy and agree submission document - 26 June 2008
- Submit Core Strategy to the Secretary of State - August 2008
- Consult on Submitted Core Strategy - August - October 2008
- Pre-Examination Meeting - January 2009
- Examination - March 2009
- Receive binding Inspector's Report - June 2009
- Adoption - July 2009
