Withdrawn Supplementary Planning Guidance
The Council has produced and adopted Supplementary Planning Guidance (SPG) since 1994. When national Planning Policy Guidance (PPG) Note number 12 was published in December 1999, it emphasized that information within an SPG could be used to assist the determination of planning applications where appropriate consultation had taken place (PPG12, paragraph 3.16). With the changes to the planning system through the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004 (2004 Act), it was considered appropriate to rationalise the Council’s SPG to retain only those that accord with best practice (outlined in PPG12).
The Council's Executive on 14 October 2004 decided to withdraw some of the Supplementary Planning Guidance where it:
a) did not reflect the advice in PPG12 regarding the completion of consultation; orb) it had been replaced by newer versions.
The Council's Executive on 25 May 2006 decided to withdraw further Supplementary Planning Guidance where they did not reflect the latest information.
As Supplementary Planning Guidance are replaced by Supplementary Planning Documents, the earlier documents will be withdrawn.
