Our Duty Officer team

Our out of hours emergency response is co-ordinated through a team of Council Officers who form the Duty Officer team. 

The Duty Officer is the first point of contact for the Council should an emergency occur, or any other matter that requires a decision.

Our service

The service is provided by a team of senior officers most of who have volunteered for this duty and for which they are paid an allowance.

Our skills

These are officers with experience in dealing with unexpected, potentially dangerous situations. They have good knowledge of the Authority, its departments, how they work and general responsibilities. They are self-confident and able to make a rapid, accurate appreciation of the incident.
