We manage 5 sites for fishing: 

Dinton Pastures Country Park

• White Swan Lake

• Black Swan Lake

• The River Loddon 

California Country Park

• Longmoor Lake

and

• Twyford Reserve

Tickets for fishing

Casual day fishing tickets are available on the River Loddon at Dinton Pastures and Longmoor Lake, California Country Park only.

Day tickets can be purchased from car park ticket machines in the car park at each site. Fishing is allowed from dawn to dusk.

Day season tickets are available for White Swan Lake, River Loddon and Longmoor Lake only.

Day Fishing Charges are:

Maximum of 2 rods allowed per person. 

Night fishing is open to specimen group members only. For up-to-date information on membership fees and to add your name to the waiting lists, please call the Countryside Service on 0118 934 2016 or email: countryside@wokingham.gov.uk. 

A closed season operates from 15th March to 15th June inclusive.

Anglers please note, fishing is one of many activities carried out on the Country Parks. Considerate behaviour will result in a pleasant time for all visitors to our sites.

Before fishing all anglers should make themselves fully acquainted with the fishing rules.

No casual day fishing on White Swan Lake, Dinton Pastures

Day fishing has been suspended on White Swan Lake as a preventative step to protect carp from Koi Herpesvirus - KHV. 

KHV is a highly contagious disease that affects common carp and other carp varieties like Koi carp. It has a high mortality rate and there is no known treatment for it. Whilst the disease poses no risk to humans, it is highly contagious and can be spread easily through the transfer of fish and wet fishing nets and equipment that have not been dried or disinfected thoroughly.  

KHV was detected at Burghfield Match Lake in October 2007 and Bagshot lea in 2009. The Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs - DEFRA - ordered a restriction of fish movement in the immediate area. Dinton Pastures is outside the restricted area, however, as a precaution and to safeguard the future enjoyment of the lake, day fishing will not be permitted until further notice.

Day tickets can still be purchased here for fishing on the River Loddon.

White Swan Lake Specimen Group members and Day Season Ticket holders will still be able to fish at White Swan Lake. It is only day tickets that are suspended.

Fishing at Longmoor Lake in California Country Park is also unaffected by the DEFRA ban and because it is less frequently visited, day tickets will continue to be in use.
