The Department of Communities and Local Government finalised the list of central departments' data requirements for 2011-12, as announced by the Rt Hon Eric Pickles MP, Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government, on 13 October 2010.
The single data list for central government departments (2011-12) was published on 14 April 2011. The aim of this exercise was to reduce the data burden on Local Authorities by decreasing the number of data collections required by Central Government.
What is The Single Data List?
The single data list is a list of all the data that Central Government expects councils to produce and submit in a given year. If an item is not on the list, councils do not have to provide that data unless extra funding is provided.
Departments within Wokingham Borough Council are responsible for collecting and submitting the data returns to Central Government by the required timescales.
More information about the single data list is available on the Department of Communities and Local Government website including the full data list, comments received about the list and an FAQ document.
