Play area review

For the past 2 years we have been reviewing several play areas in the Borough, which have become unused or, in some cases, misused to see if they are still a valuable part of the community or if they would be more beneficial to residents as recreational space.

Play area consultation

We consulted residents on 12 play areas in 2007. A decision to return 9 play areas to grass was taken by our decision-making executive in June 2008. 

Work began in December 2008 on 3 areas in Lower Earley, including:

• Kilnsea Walk

• Moorhen Drive

• Skelmerdale Way East
