Dorset based artist and musician Damian Clarke will be exhibiting his latest artworks ‘The River Wherever’ from March 31 to May 13 in the Dragonfly Café’s Garden Gallery at Dinton Pastures Country Park.
Damian is an experienced artist and musician and will be accompanying the opening night’s viewing with music, played on the unusual Hammer Dulcimer. Some of the music inspired or was inspired by the artwork on view and Damien will be available throughout the evening to talk about his painting and music.
The works in this exhibition are all drawn responses to landscapes. Most of these resulted from walks made in various parts of the UK, such as Dorset, Dartmoor and his favourite haunt of Cumbria.
Describing his work as ‘painted drawings’, Damian said: "I’m fascinated by the possibilities of drawing in pure lines and dots. I love drawing in ink and using acrylic paints for colour and texture in the response."
The Garden Gallery is open daily for visitors and is the setting for the Dragonfly Café at Dinton Pastures.
