Plans for new facilities at St Crispins School

Wokingham Borough Council and St Crispin’s School in Wokingham are holding an exhibition next week (Wednesday October 12) for local residents to find out more about proposals for a new science facility and multi use games area at the school.

Interested parties are welcome to visit the exhibition at St Crispin’s School, London Road, Wokingham between 5pm and 8pm.

The council has submitted plans which will be considered by the planning committee later this year. Plans can be viewed online at: http://bit.ly/owPNVN

The application number is F/2011/1920 and comments must be received by October 26.

Members of the design team will be available to answer any questions people may have in relation to the proposed new science laboratory and teaching facility. This addition will enable the school to enhance its already excellent standards. On display will be several images of the proposed new building and the new all-weather sports facility that can be viewed together with a computer generated ‘walk-through’ DVD.

Alex Biddle, head teacher at St Crispin’s School, said: “We are very pleased to be working with the council on this development for the school. We have already created an outstanding teaching and learning environment at St Crispin's and know that, if these plans are successful, we can achieve so much more for our current students and for those who join the  school in future years."

Cllr Rob Stanton, Wokingham Borough Council’s executive member for educations services, said: "The council is delighted to be able to support one of our outstanding secondary schools by funding this ambitious development programme. These proposals, if given planning approval, would make a significant difference to students and staff, enhancing the delivery of the science curriculum and enabling the school to develop better teaching and learning environments across a range of other subject areas."
