Nine Mile Ride road closure

31 October 2011 to 28 November 2011

Southern Gas Networks (SGN) will be undertaking the replacement of the ageing metal gas mains and services in B3430 Nine Mile Ride, Wokingham Without.

This work forms part of SGN’s ongoing mains replacement programme in the area to maintain the safety and reliability of the gas supply network by installing durable plastic (polyethylene) pipe.

Nine Mile Ride road closure

To allow this work to be undertaken in safety, B3430 Nine Mile Ride will be closed between its junctions with A321 Sandhurst Road and Heathlands Road for 4 weeks from 31 October 2011. During this time, there will also be 4 way temporary traffic lights in operation at the double mini roundabouts at the junctions of B3430 Nine Mile Ride and A321 Sandhurst Road.

Alternative routes

The alternative route for all vehicles affected by this closure will be via A321 Lower Wokingham Road, B3348 Duke’s Ride, New Wokingham Road and B3430 Nine Mile Ride or by this route in reverse.

Access for residents and businesses

Access for residents and businesses within the boundary of the closure will be maintained at all times from the junction with Heathlands Road.

Bus Services

Due to this closure, the 122 bus route to Crowthorne will be diverted via A321 Lower Wokingham Road and B3348 Duke’s Ride. The service will call additionally at stops on New Wokingham Road after serving Crowthorne Town Centre.

The work is being carried out in close consultation with Wokingham Borough Council and everything is being done to minimise disruption. We apologise to members of the public for any inconvenience caused by these essential works.
