The last day for registering to vote for an election is 11 working days before the poll.
Voting in person
Once an election is called every eligible elector on the register is sent a poll card which confirms their voting arrangements. The poll card is just for information. You don't need a poll card to vote. The poll card tells you:
- The date of the election
- The address of the polling station
- The times between which you can cast your vote: 7am to 10pm
You can also vote by post or have someone vote on your behalf (by proxy.)
Lost or spoilt ballot papers
Lost or spoilt ballot papers may be replaced, but there are certain procedures that need to be followed. If the ballot paper is spoilt, don't throw any part of the ballot paper pack away. Return it to us for replacement. In any circumstances please contact us first.
