Wokingham Station Link Road consultation

Highway Improvements around Rail Station

We are working together with Network Rail and South West Trains to improve Wokingham railway station. A key part of these proposals is a link road between the station forecourt and the A329 Reading Road. Our decision-making executive approved the proposed scheme for consultation at its meeting on the 26 January. For more details read the Wokingham Train Station news page.

Proposed plans

The link road is part of our regeneration project for Wokingham town centre. Having the link road should help to reduce traffic in the town centre. Read the Wokingham Train Station news page to find out more about the background of this project. The proposed plans include a bus interchange at Wokingham train station to encourage greater use of public transport. Better pedestrian and cycling facilities are also planned.

Consultation

The consultation on the proposals ended on 6 April 2012. Consultation feedback will be included in the planning application documents. A planning application is set to be submitted in July 2012.
