Citizens' Panel

We are currently undergoing a refresh of the panel to ensure that members wish to remain on the panel and we also asked residents who undertook the Place Survey in Autumn 2008 if they wished to join. The panel are contacted via post or email depending on the contact details that each member provides to us.

Surveys are sent to the panel on a number of topics; asking opinions on a range of services including waste collection, transport, customer care. An annual Fear of Crime survey is also undertaken to look at resident’s perception of crime in their area.

About the Citizens Panel

Wokingham Borough Council’s Citizens’ Panel was set up in November 1999 by sending out letters to 10,000 addresses from the electoral register. The original panel numbered around 1800 local residents who were representative of the Borough and responded to surveys sent out during the year.

The Panel has since been refreshed in both 2001 and 2004 in order to keep the number of people at a representative level.
