There is currently a Council Tax telephone scam in operation. If a company calls you to say that you're entitled to a Council Tax refund and asks for your bank details this is a scam. Just hang up and report them to Trading Standards.

Other ways to pay

You can pay by:

  • Kiosk – behind main reception at our Shute End office by cash, debit or credit card
  • Telephone (24 hour payment line): 0300 456 0505 - have your debit or credit card details, council tax account number and how much you want to pay to hand.  (£2 surcharge for credit card payments)
  • Post Office or at a Payzone outlet - call us on 0118 974 6000 and we'll give you a key fob so you can make payments.  For a list of Payzone outlets read our  places where you can pay via Payzone (PDF document)  
     

£2 Surcharge for credit card payments

There is a £2.00 charge made for using your credit card.

Spread your Council Tax bill over 12 months

You can spread your Council Tax payments over 12 months. If you want to pay by 12 monthly instalments contact us.
