Council Tax Band reductions for disabled residents

If you, or someone who lives with you, has special needs arising from a disability, you may qualify for a reduction on your Council Tax.
 
To qualify the property must have:
 
  • At least one disabled person permanently resident, and either
  • A special room used specifically to meet the needs of the disabled person, or
  • A second bathroom or kitchen used specifically to meet the needs of the disabled person, or
  • Sufficient space so that a wheelchair may be used about the property on a daily basis
 
Council Tax reduction
 
The Council Tax bill may be reduced by 1/9th of the charge for a property in Bands A and D.
