The new Longshot Lane Household Waste Recycling Centre opens to the public at 9am on July 13 2009. After this date, opening times for the site will be:
Temporarily closed from July 6 to 12
To ensure that the site is ready for residents to use, the site will be completely closed from July 6 to July 12.
During the week's closure you can recycle or dispose of household waste at Smallmead Household Waste Recycling Centre in Reading. A number of materials can also be recycled at local bring sites throughout the area.
More things to recycle
The site has been undergoing much needed redevelopment over the last 15 months and the new site will make it easier for residents to recycle even more. Residents will be able to recycle a number of new materials at the site such as beverage cartons, mobile phones and printer cartridges.
The layout has been changed to improve the flow of traffic, making the site more efficient and safer to use and covered areas will give some protection from the weather.
About the redevelopment
Longshot Lane has been redeveloped by re3, the partnership between Bracknell Forest, Reading and Wokingham Borough Councils and Waste Recycling Group. The partnership was set up to increase the amount of waste that is reused, recycled and composted across the three boroughs and minimise the amount of waste sent to landfill.
