Freedom of Information

The Freedom of Information Act 2000 requires all councils to be open with information.

The Act gives a general right of access to all types of recorded information we hold, sets out exemptions from that right and places various obligations on the Council.

It also means that we:

  • Maintain a Publication Scheme
  • Must inform anyone who makes a request to us for information whether we hold that information and supply the information unless there is an exemption for that particular information

For more details see the Information Commissioner's Office website.
