Volunteering

Volunteers make a real difference by helping out in their local community.
 
We actively encourage and support local volunteering and voluntary sector groups. There are a wide variety of volunteering opportunities available both with the Council and with local charities, voluntary and community groups across the Borough. Links to these volunteering opportunities are shown below.

Libraries and Community LearningVolunteers assist with library events, children's activities in libraries, and the home library service.
Volunteers help with making and repairing costumes, organising stock and helping customers.
Volunteers help with practical conservation tasks at nature reserves around the Borough.
Independent Parental Supporters offer support and help to parents of children with special educational needs.
Volunteer carers are linked to disabled children and their families to provide them with regular short-term care.
