What measures can you take
You can play a major role by helping to protect yourself, your home and your community by:
- Locking out burglary – fit extra bolts, door chains and other security devices to make it as difficult as possible for criminals to get into your home
- Not leaving mobiles, laptops or other valuables on show in your car - leave it empty and you won’t find it empty
- Making your area a no-go zone for criminals – if you have a neighbourhood watch scheme in your street then join, if you don’t then why not help set one up
- Show community spirit – make a call to crime stoppers if you have information that you think could solve a crime before it happens again, calls are all in complete confidence
