There are a number of ways you can report incidents:

In an emergency phone 999, alternatively if you do not need immediate assistance call 0845 8 505 505. You can also speak to a specially trained officer, called a Community and Diversity Officer, who you can speak to in confidence for information, advice and support. They can be contacted during normal office hours only on 0845 8 505 505.

Email us at: hate.crime@wokingham.gov.uk. The email will be forwarded to our Community Safety Team. Again, the information will be used by local agencies and partners to try and address issues. The information you supply on this email will be processed during normal working hours only. If you require a police response then please contact them on 0845 8 505 505 or in an emergency, dial 999.
The information provided by you will be treated sensitively and confidentially but may be shared with partner agencies.
Who can report an incident?
- Victims of hate crimes
- Friends or relatives who victims have confided in
- Professionals who victims have confided in
- Witnesses to a crime or incident they believe was motivated by hate
You can report an incident giving as much or as little detail as you are comfortable with. Even if you don’t want to give your name please let us know about the incident. That way, working together, we stand a better chance of stamping out Hate Crime in the Wokingham Borough.
Any organisations or venues that would be interested in becoming self-reporting centres in the future should talk to the Community Safety department: 0118 974 3798.
