The Community Safety Partnership brings together representatives from the key organisations responsible for keeping the borough safe.
The partnership includes key local organisations: Thames Valley Police, the Borough Council, Thames Valley Probation, Berkshire West Primary Care Trust, Thames Valley Police Authority and Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service.
The partnerhip agrees the borough's response to crime and anti-social behaviour and sets priorities to ensure partners are working together to create a safe place to live, work and visit.
Current priorities:
The current priorities (which are based on detailed analysis of crime and disoreder issues, including public perception) are:
- Neighbourhood level crime and disorder
- Night time economy and alcohol related nuisance
- Reducing serious acquisitive crime
- Support for vulnerable victims (including domestic abuse)
- Hate crime
In order to focus on these priorities, the Community Safety Partnership has four sub-partnerships:
- Significant Impact Criminality: which covers issues such as domestic abuse and hate crime
- High Volume Crime and Anti-Social Behaviour: which covers issues such as anti-social behaviour, domestic burglaries and fly-tipping
- Priority Prolific Offenders: whihc focuses on reducing the offending of specific prolific criminals
- Substance Misuse Delivery Group: which covers support services for drug and alcohol abusers and prevention measures
The partnership also funds specific projects that are targeted at its priorities.
The Community Safety Partnership is part of the Wokingham Borough Strategic Partnership, which brings together public, private, voluntary and community stakeholders to work together more efficiently.
