Youth Opportunities Fund

The Youth Opportunities Fund - YOF - was established to give young people a chance to set up a project that will benefit their local area.

If you think there is something wrong with the area in which you live, or think there is something that you could organise for young people then read on.

Who can apply?

We are keen to receive applications from all young people however, there are a few basic requirements that grants must adhere to:

The young people applying must be between 13-19 years old and the majority target group of the project should this age range as well.

• There must be an adult to provide support and access to a bank account, which may not be a personal one
• Detailed accurate information about the project is required, including details of the project itself and a accurate breakdown of costs
• The young people must be either resident in, or attend a school or youth club in Wokingham Borough. Also, the host of the project should be located within the Borough.

It is advised that the lead young person has a team of 2-6 others to help organise the project, though this is not compulsory.

It is strongly recommended that the accompanying Youth Opportunities Fund - YOF - guidance notes are read thoroughly as these outline the criteria the panel will use when considering an application and will maximise the chances of the application being approved.
