Emergency contraception
If you have run the risk of pregnancy you can take emergency contraception up to 72 hours (3 days) after unprotected sex. It is more effective the earlier it is taken. If you had unprotected sex more than 3 days ago see a GP or go to one of the clinics shown as they will be able to help.
Emergency contraception is free from the clinics on the sexual health section above, your GP or any surgery or clinic, and from A & E Royal Berkshire Hospital.
Emergency contraception is available if you are 16 or over from a chemist (cost is about £20).
You can contact the emergency contraception helpline on (0118) 987 8314.
