We are responsible for the licensing of all hackney carriage drivers, known as dual drivers, private hire drivers, hackney carriage vehicles and private hire vehicles, and also operators.
Our licensing section is also responsible for ensuring that school vehicles and drivers are licensed under the school accreditation scheme. Vigorous checks are carried out to ensure that all persons are 'fit and proper' as required by legislation.

Complaints
If you have any issues with or wish to complain about a taxi or private hire driver, vehicle or company then try to get:
- Driver’s badge number
- Vehicle plate number
- Time and date of the incident
