Wokingham Borough comprises of approximately 800 registered food premises which are regulated by our Environmental Health team. This includes:
- Food manufacturing businesses
- Wholesalers
- Retailers
- Food businesses that operate from domestic premises
What do we do?
- Regulate all food business within the borough ensuring the safe production and sale of food
- Communicate the dangers of diseases - including food poisoning
- Promote health initiatives
- Give free advice to new and existing food businesses in regard to food hygiene and safety matters
- Investigate food complaints of food purchased or manufactured within the Borough of Wokingham
- Undertake routine sampling on behalf of the Food Standards Agency and Wokingham Borough Council
