My bill is wrong – appealing

It is important you continue to make payments.

Making an appeal does not entitle you to withhold payment. If your appeal is successful any refund of overpaid business rates will be made to you.

Appeals against rateable value

If you think the rateable value is wrong or require further information on appeals against rateable values you should contact the Valuation Office Agency (VOA):

Appeals against liability

If you think your rates bill is wrong for any other reason, you should contact us. Contact details are on your bill. For example contact us if:

  • You are not the occupier or the owner

  • You consider your property should be exempt

  • You have been refused a discount to which you believe you are entitled

  • We have made a mistake in calculating your bill
