My bill is wrong – appealing

It is important you continue to make payments. Making an appeal does not entitle you to withhold payment. If your appeal is successful any refund of overpaid business rates will be made to you.

If you think the rateable value is wrong or require further information on appeals against rateable values you should contact the Valuation Office Agency (VOA):

The Valuation Office Agency (VOA) are responsible for allocating a rateable values to each commercial property. You can find out more about valuations and check any rateable value via their website shown above.
 
Appeals against liability
 
If you think your rates bill is wrong for any other reason, you should contact us. Contact details are on your bill. For example contact us if:
 
  • You are not the occupier or the owner
  • You consider your property should be exempt
  • You have been refused a discount to which you believe you are entitled
  • Wokingham Borough Council has made a mistake in calculating your bill
