Building Regulation guidance

Building Regulation guidance

What are Building Regulations?

Building Regulations have technical requirements covering all aspects of construction. These technical requirements are divided into 14 topics, or parts.

Read the 'Approved Documents' guidance on the Local Authority Building Control website. These Approved Documents are guidance published by the Department of Communities and Local Government (DCLG) relating to each of these parts. They're free to download online, or hard copies can be purchased from The Stationery Office page of the TSO website.

Approved Documents provide helpful technical advice and practical information to illustrate how you can comply with the building regulation requirements, as well as offering solutions to common building problems.
