How to use our online library

What can I borrow?

Every individual library member can borrow:

  • 15 books 
  • 6 cassettes or CDs
  • 6 DVDs

                                                                                        Special arrangements are available for registered child-minders, nurseries and some other organised groups. Contact us for details.

What's available?

Our libraries offer a wide range of books and other materials, including: 

  • Adult fiction and non-fiction books, including large print
  • Children’s fiction and non-fiction, including picture books, board books, large print and audio books
  • CDs, DVDs, cassettes, audio-books
  • Reference material (encyclopaedias, dictionaries)
  • Newspapers and magazines
  • Graphic novels (including manga)
  • Sets of books for book groups
  • Music scores and tutorials
  • Local studies material
  • Online reference materials

    There is no charge for borrowing books if you renew or return them on time. We charge for some materials and services. For details visit the library charges page.

 

  Renewing your items

 If your items are not required for a reservation they may be renewed up to four times.

You can renew in three different ways:

You will be asked for your Library card number or the Item barcode number to renew your items.

Home library service

If you are homebound or are unable to visit a library, you may be eligible for our home library service.
